ITINERARY DETAILS
Day 1
The retreat shall commence from the yoga capital, Rishikesh, approximately 240 km from New Delhi, the national capital of India. Rishikesh is a sacred town located in the foothills of the Himalayas with the holy river Ganges streamlining it on the side. The town is globally identified as the epicenter of yoga and meditation and has an abundance of Ashrams, Temples, Ayurveda centers, Meditation centers, and some of the best Yoga schools. The town continues to lure several yogis, spiritual gurus, erudite, wanderers, who seek to experience the eternal presence of the divine, who aspire to delve into the layers of their inner being towards self-realization and inner transformation into its holy lap. The complete aura of the town emanates purity, spiritual vibrations, mental calmness, and inner bliss. Being here devours an entity to the presence of eternal purity, faith, healing, and love. From Rishikesh, travel towards the famous Vashistha Cave, one of the most ancient caves where several known seers stepped foot with the aim to attain Samadhi. The cave dates back to 5000 years ago and is a popular mediation spot in India. After spending an hour at the cave, we shall proceed towards Kodiyala for immersing in the lustrous view of the holy river Ganges. From Kodiyala, we shall drive towards Devprayag, Bhagirathi, and Alaknanda River Meeting Point, a historic juncture where the great water bodies unite. It is approximately an hour-long drive. From here, we shall proceed towards Rudraprayag approximately 2 hours from Devprayag. Rudraprayag is a holy town assimilating the great confluence of the five sanctified rivers. After witnessing the grand confluence and a delicious yogic lunch, we shall drive towards Ukhimath.
Ukhimath is significant for the winter puja of Lord Kedarnath and year-long puja of Lord Omkareshwar. After a small snack break at the hotel, we shall proceed to witnessing the famous prayer offering (traditional evening aarti) at the Omkareshwar Temple. Post dinner comprising of appetizing ‘sattvic’ meal choices, proceed towards self-reflection and a good night’s sleep at the allocated accommodation.
Day 2
After morning tea, we shall move towards Sari Village, approximately 12 km from Ukhimath. Sari Village hosts a quaint, non-commercialized, and vastly beautiful trekking route to Deoria Tal. This is where you shall be able to witness and admire the soothing beauty of mountain setting and the Chandrashila peak without hustle and bustle of a crowd. The trek is approximately 3 km and shall last for about 90 minutes. Upon reaching, you shall be served with a platter of hot breakfast choices, post that you can relax. Soak in the beauty of natural environs around with a relaxing yoga session. After lunch, proceed towards an exotic exploration of the forest. After coming back from the forest walk, treat yourself with a cup of hot tea and snacks. Prepare for a traditional Yoga and Pranayama session. After indulging in breath-work and asana practice, revitalize with a delicious platter of hot yogic food. Retire to a wonderful night’s sleep in the lap of nature or in the allotted tent.
Day 3
The third day shall commence with gentle yoga practice in the embrace of nature. After breakfast, we shall introduce you to the unique Third-Eye Mediation technique, also known as the ‘Lingam’ Meditation. After meditation, our guru shall share an insight into the philosophy of yoga – the principles, ethics, and discipline that govern the aesthetics of yoga. With a scrumptious luncheon and rest, We shall proceed to a unique session on Pranayama. During the Pranayama session, you shall acquire a glimpse into the art of breathing for the benefit of the mind, body, and spirit. After Pranayama, indulge in admiring the beauty of the Sunset. Post Sunset watch, feel free to retire for dinner and rest.
Day 4
Enjoy the panoramic view of the rising sun over a hot cup of tea before starting to trek down towards Sari Village. After breaking the fast in Sari Village, we shall drive towards Chopta (approximately two and half-hours from Sari Village), a tinsel town of beautiful meadows and striking forests. After sightseeing and expedition into the beautiful village of Chopta, platters of hot delicious yogic lunch shall await you.
Day 5
Conclude the retreat with a session of yoga and meditation in the morning. After a wholesome breakfast, travel towards Rudraprayag. After a Vedic lunch in Rudraprayag, drive towards Dhari Devi Temple, from where we shall travel to Srinagar, a tiny picturesque town in Uttarakhand, approximately 16 km from Dhari Devi Temple. Enjoy a hot cup of tea in Srinagar before departing back to Rishikesh, India.
